Thank You Sir! Poem by Ana Liza Corpuz Nabor

Thank You Sir!

They say, "he's a monster".

When I knew it,
Dread ate my confidence;
Doubt rushed through my veins;
But excitement grew; I felt fearless.

From the moment I came to know you,
I felt I'm appreciated.
When I witnessed your incomparable countenance,
I felt secured.

The stronghold that enchains my credence,
Blooms like a timid lilac
that shyly succumbs every chance at hand.
Through you, I flourish as time elapsed.

With your great help,
I learned to throw a pitch of salt that dwells in me.
Through you, I faced independence boldly.
Because of your truthfulness,
I learned to be me.

Albeit I barely experienced your presence,
To all, you showed inimitable love.
With all the warmth of your fondness,
I salute you!

With a hope that ceaselessly rising at its peak,
Someday, you'll see and read this.
It's austerity reflects mine,
But with all my heart, I want to say:
"Thank You Sir! "
