Thanksgiving - Poem by Frederick Kesner

thank you for being a good listener
thank you for being a good friend
thank you for making me laugh
thank you for joining in when i cry
thank you for not thinking me weird
for always allowing me to be me
thank you for steadying my runaway heart
and not ever witholding your love or time

thank you for watching over me in my sleep
and keeping me warm and safe from grief
thank you for putting up with me when i act up
and forgiving me for my personal flaws
thank you for correcting me when i am wrong
and for picking me up when i fall
thank you for teaching me new things
and all the joy that this life can bring
