That Feeling Poem by Courtney Shanahan

That Feeling

The fire under my skin burns
The pounding in my head follows a rhythm
Like a hammer on a picket fence
The sight of my dry eyes has disappeared
A million silky touch tissues in the nylon bin
A lifetime of dejection awaits me
