That Is What Keeps Me Alive Poem by Ibrahim Dewaswala

That Is What Keeps Me Alive

Every alarm that marked the morn
Blew with it the cruel horn
The rational minds and irrational hearts
An unending war once again starts.

Just in hours lost thousand dreams
The sick survival does happily screams
Belief in God shattered by noon
All I'm now is a lazy loon.

By the time the sun departs
Eternal loves and mortal arts
All are gone and I am marooned
The war is lost without a single wound.

But then when I went to bed
I saw some light over head
It was night with moon and star
Trying a truce for an endless war.

Yes I know the next day
would stage the very same play
All from morning to the night
I shall be witness to my inner plight.

But all these years of war within
Has taught me never to give in
In spite of love or sorrow, thrive
that is what keeps me alive. - See more at: http: //allpoetry.com/poem/11797314-That-is-what-keeps-me-alive.-by-Ibbuu#sthash.OGWyhri2.dpuf
