That Man Isn'T Mitt Poem by Willy Munyoki

That Man Isn'T Mitt

Rating: 5.0

Now, America, come and let us reason together
In this dull and dense political weather
And once again, reach real and right choice
To save a people from Baton to Boise

The thing's clear and the race's known
Every Party now has its own
Mitt Romney—that's the name of the GOP candidate
And in Barack Obama Democrats chose to elate.

And come on, Americans on November six
Will elect the one they believe will fairly fix
The challenge on economy and security and value
To bring back fairness and the lost barbecue.

If your genius and sense is the American way
That genuine and germane judgment that never goes astray
Here's Mitt-Obama race; now play by your wit
And the man for White House shouldn't be Mitt.

And by the way guys, if you heard Obama speak
As president-elect that "our economy is no doubt weak,
The road ahead will be steep; we may not get there in one term,
We will need a second one to make America again firm…"

Then you know the man for the next four years, no doubt
To build on America's momentum without fizzling out
Playing by our Rule, our Genius, our Sense
To bring bread back and build political coherence.

For in the past four years you've seen him rotate
An out-of-control economy back to order and rate
America is now safer, for there's no fear of Osama
What reasons for no four more years of Obama?

The kind of president Honest Abe was, that kind of leader we need
With malice toward none and love for all, a faithful friend indeed
That man has been Barack for us, and we've found he's fine and fit
That man isn't Romney; that man shouldn't be Mitt.

"In fact, were it not for our democracy we hold dear
And as an assumption so would found a fear
We wouldn't hold election, " a US patriot has said
"For what we'd lost, except under Obama, we couldn't have paid."

From free fall to hiring and rewarding economy
From a war closure to subsequent slayings of an enemy
This job of bringing back our safety and money
Is for Obama; not a raving and ranting Romney.

If you want prove this duty's whose, ask the Carolinian Jackie Bray
Or a veteran from Iraq, who'd been there for a decade and, in harm's way
They'll tell at once in no guess and gamble, that they need no Mitt
For with United States and Obama bipartisan policies, success will always be hit.

Mitt says, "I'll speed recovery." But shy to say how
Obama is leading the recovery by policies a mix and match to wow!
Mitt is running for president just because ‘one should be there'
Which isn't why; for one should be there with leadership flair.

If a man's to expand America's growing trust
And raise influence across oceans with fairness, without lust
That man's Barack; for so he's done in the past four
That man isn't Mitt—the Obama's aimless foe.

If a man's to lead America by and of and for Americans
The men and women who believe in a ‘Yes We Can'
Whether black or white, rich, middle class, gay, straight, every unit
That man is Obama; that man isn't Mitt.

To make America hold to those founding values fast
And build an economy that into future will last
To win new markets like South Korea and Panama
That man isn't Mitt; that man is Obama.

That man isn't Mitt; that man is Obama
To break Taliban and make sure Al Qaeda's dead as Osama
So America will be America bold, leading, safest and proud.
Singing songs of freedom, fearless, clear and aloud.

For equality for all and fairest Bill of Rights
For American Brotherhood in both blacks and whites
To uphold the self-evident truth that all men are created equal
It isn't a Mitt to win that precious goal.
