Fate took Tom for a ride
Luck was not on his side.
Tom was being brought down
Felt like the clown of the town.
But he will recover in awhile.
He must take it all with
A handshake and smile.

Flown away had Tom's wife
Oh what a terrible life.
Tom was missing her so
Felt very inferior and low.
But he will recover in awhile.
He must take it all with

Tom's office subordinate
became Tom's superior ~
Not very nice for a boss to do.
Made Tom feel unhappy and blue
But he will recover in awhile
