That's Not True Poem by Hayley Foster

That's Not True

You think you know, but I know you don’t
I ask you to understand, but I know you won’t
You assume I don’t care, but you couldn’t be more wrong
I’ve cared more than you know all along
I can’t explain it, but I’m drawn to you –
Your voice, your touch, and all the things you do
Each time we cross paths, it hurts more to say goodbye
I try not to care, but that’s just a lie
Although it seems we’re always worlds apart
Know that’s not true ’cause you’re here in my heart
