That Word Poem by desamangalam ramakrishnan

That Word

Rating: 5.0

A word that entered the abode
from some heap of garbage
or from some gutter
began to grow with larger wings
not as an eagle
not as a peacock.

All on a sudden
scattering the vessels
and turning out the gas cylinder
now it is strolling hither and thither.
It stabs all at sight
and everybody in the house is fainting.

Then from the rotten heaps
that word's offsprings too
rush into the abode
with an intolerable buzz.
And now I conclude
that I must shatter myself
to eradicate this affliction.
