The Abyss Poem by Charles Orwell

The Abyss

The view was blackened wasteland,
Fine ash, some plant
Some animal
Some man
As far as the eye could see
All man made
The day that everyone had prayed
Not to see
But it wasn't to be
No form of live left around
Apart those clever enough to dig
And seek shelter underground
How could it come to this?
This was not God's intended wish
But greed and might lead the way
To this vast abyss
Those underground will have to live there,
For a vast amount of time
Will future generation stand the test of time?
Will they learn from the mistakes of mankind?
Or will they choose to ignore
And face the consequences
That has come before.
