The Adder Poem by Sheena Blackhall

The Adder

If snapped by a snapper
The adder gets madder

The adder gets badder
If poked with a dagger

There's nothing that's sadder
Than a weak-bladdered adder

An adder's more dapper
Than an Art Nouveau flapper

As war-like's a sapper
An excellent scrapper

No adder would flatter
It hasn't the patter

When prodded the adder's
As mad's the mad hatter

The adder grows gladder
At mouse on a platter
