The Adventures Of Onion Boy Poem by Samantha Tan de Guzman

The Adventures Of Onion Boy

Rating: 5.0

Once upon a time there was a couple
Who caused the town so much trouble
They always make children cry
But all the parents could do is sigh

Until one night a prayer was heard
From a boy named Berd
He asked the gods for the couple to pay
For what they did to him that day

That was December, now its November
Nine months after as I remember
She gave birth to a baby boy
But it was not a bundle of joy

'He is not normal, ' the Doctor said
'He has an onion for a head
I was shocked when I took him out
'Coz he's got hair as spiky as sprouts.'

The couple did not know what to do
All they could say is: 'It's not true'
'How can we have a baby like this,
It's like he's a part of our unfinished dish! '

'In the kitchen, that's where he belongs
I can't even stand staring at him that long
I know we have to kill him someday
Or rather put him in a pan to sauté.'

*unfinished*
