The Afterlife Poem by Raja Bhandari

The Afterlife

One day, while having bath, I witnessed a strange love story!
After having filled the whole bucket, when I turned the tap off, I noticed a little water droplet at the mouth of the tap, swinging downward.
Perhaps, it seemed that the droplet and the tap mouth, both were meeting after a long span of time, and now they were in each other's arms, enjoying their auspicious time, kissing each other.
But suddenly, with the increase in the size of the droplet, the gravity interfered and that droplet started to edge more downwards. Strange! I could see the struggle of the droplet to keep a hold of the hand of the tap mouth. But a time came, when it couldn't hold hands anymore and it fell eventually, saying its last ' GoodBye ', and it fell on the water-filled bucket, hence getting perished amongst the other droplets.
The silent screams from the mouth of the tap soon echoed throughout the bathroom. It filled with grief, but it didn't cry. It must have tried, but it itself couldn't. I felt really bad, the view broke me down.
In a hope of giving it a consolation and setting free its inner pain, I lightly patted on its head, and turned the tap onn, and it literally burst into tears. It might have helped it a lot I hope, as letting out pain through tears has always been helpful for anyone, even for a non-breather of oxygen.
But as I turned the tap off, a petty thing on the tap mouth caught my eye. Getting a bit more close, I saw something more strange. I rubbed my eyes twice, so as to confirm that I was not dreaming, but it was all real. There was that same droplet, again swinging down from the mouth tap. Once again they were back together, in each other's arms, enjoying their time peacefully with kisses.
Though the view flooded my mind with confusions, the sight really overwhelmed me at the same time, and it beamed a bright smile on my face.
And I understood atlast, Nature again hasn't lost its chance to convince me that for lovers, 'Afterlife' really exists in this Universe!

It is a beautiful poem on life and love having haunting expression and nice collocation. I quote... Thanks for sharing.
