The Aggressive Boy In The Man Poem by Francis Duggan

The Aggressive Boy In The Man

He has not changed from the teen I knew two decdes ago
Some boys into men never do seem to grow
His ego is huge but his World views are small
Some boys remain as boys they don't grow up at all
With a wife and two children yet on saturday night
He gets drunk at the pub and starts looking for fight
And he always goes home with bruises and swollen eyes
That some never grow up does that come as a surprise
Now in his mid thirties it does seem sad to say
That some remain as boys even as they age and grow gray
'Tis amazing stuff the whiskey or the beer
With a few drinks in his loud voice one does hear
The aggressive boy in the man looking for trouble again
The school-yard bully boy in him does remain.
