The Albatross Poem by Harlan Lovestone

The Albatross

Rating: 4.3

I don’t know why I should want to need you
Walking into a crowded room
And I don’t know why I should want to please you
When I call you’re a lullaby at noon

Lack of feelings and dealings
Are killing the albatross too soon

I don’t know why I should want to tell you
The secrets that I have
I don’t know why I should waste a moment to your indulgence
Just be happy for what you have

Lack of feelings and dealings
Are killing the albatross to soon
Greed and plunder asunder
Well it’s no wonder
The pacifist is doomed

We live each day like we got forever
But we’re not together
So what more can I give?
People always want a resolution
A quick solution
Or a revolution to win

Lack of feelings and dealings
Are killing the albatross too soon

I don’t know why I should want to need you
Walking into a crowded room
And I don’t know why I should want to please you
When I call you’re a lullaby at noon

Lack of feelings and dirty dealings
Your killing me and the albatross to soon
Greed and plunder asunder
Well it’s no wonder
The pacifist is doomed
