The Angel In Dream! Poem by Vadakkumpurath Ramesan

The Angel In Dream!

Rating: 5.0

He woke up
As the sleep was snapped
When she smiled and invited
Him to the harvested fields
Where women collect glean.
He rose and hold her hand
In help to move
To the vision of the sun
That shines the glaciers.
She whispered to him
As words coated with nectar
Of love that imbibe
In her heart
Like the sweet wine.
'Let's go to see
The grapevines that flower
The pomegranate that flower
The Deodar forests
Undressed in the winter
Where I will give you
My love forever to you! '
She, clad in whiteness
That shy the snowy ranges
As her chastity
That never tainted
The fidelity never shaken.
He moved and followed her
As the white shining shadow
Of his love led him.
To the gardens
Where they once sang
Where they once danced
In chorus with the green parrots
That pluck the apple flesh.
He touched the skin
Of the Deodar still naked
And sensed and smelled her.
He found the flowers
In the misty morning
Cheering him up.
But he wailed
As the flowers bleed,
As the Deodar bleed,
As the glacier bleed!
He turned and looked
For her glimpse
To his fading vision
But she stood bleeding
With a cry that made him
Panting, wailing and fainted!
