Do you think
I will ever grow up -
ever mature
ever face up
to being an adult
to being responsible
for taking care of myself
make the right decisions -
traverse the right path -

Who am I talking to?
I should be talking to me -
I am the only one
who can make the changes to
stand up
for what I want -
for what I need.

What is it that I want
that I need -

I talk to myself,
advise myself
of that I need to do -
to get ahead in the world
to get what I
want, what I need
to be an adult.
