The Apologetic Ghost Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

The Apologetic Ghost

My slumber was invaded
by a familiar
sound of footsteps;
wakening my sight
The rush of your presence
was fleeting
as shadows hovered
in the stillness
of the night

On the vacant pillow
next to mine
was a hastily written
note jotted down
in black and white
Sorry for the hurt
I unwittingly caused,
it was not intended…
try to understand

The message
was grasped
in my transfixed mind…
knowing it is not possible
for someone to pen
after passing on;
no apparent traces remain...
Seemingly my inner being
is at ease once again
