The Art Of Being Hurt Poem by Monte Hill

The Art Of Being Hurt

The art of being hurt is putting yourself
Last and never first. In the back of your
Mind, you're constantly hoping it'll work.
You even cross your t's and dot your i's.
Loving someone is do or die, you either
Ready to win it all or lose it all. Don't you
Know loose lips sink relationships. Kisses
Can be deceiving and people mislead the
Hopeless romantics with lustful antics.

The birth of technology in our society,
Topple lover's tower of communication.
You two can't even argue without being
Center stage on social media. So I guess
Our love tales are put on display for l.o.l's.
Another reason I keep squeezing on my
Heart and hope that it bleed out, before
Another person can hurt me. Regardless
Of who's the target, I am always the one
To be ripped heartless.

Into a billion pieces my heart went, time
Well spent. Deposited into the checking
Of no return. I feel love beckoning me on
A little more, but I just want to shut the
Door. It's just too cold outside, they only
Want titles. I careless about being your
'Baby' I just want somebody that won't
Betray me. Say something quick, before
You waste my time, because I'm bitter
Enough already due to the art of being hurt.
