The Auspicious Day, Celestial Night Poem by Sumita Jetley

The Auspicious Day, Celestial Night

In Ajmer's heart, where faith runs deep,
The Urs begins, its soul to keep.
Khwaja Ajmeri, saint of old,
In his Dargah, stories told.

Moonlit nights, qawwals sing,
Melodies of devotion ring.
Drums and claps, in rhythm blend,
Hearts unite, differences end.

Pilgrims walk, in love's pursuit,
In every step, in every foot.
Roses strewn, incense in air,
Blessings felt, everywhere.

In the crowd, a couple new,
Witness love, in every hue.
Hand in hand, they find their place,
In Khwaja's grace, a warm embrace.

The Urs, a dance of divine light,
Under the moon, a mystical night.
Ajmer's streets, alive and loud,
In Khwaja's love, the city proud.

Through the days, the festival sways,
Echoing the saint's loving ways.
In Ajmer's Urs, the spirit soars,
In every heart, Khwaja Ajmeri endures.
