'The Awakening' Poem by jordan scown

'The Awakening'

'the awakening'
here i lay at
mid-night,
in this tomb covered
in stone,
yet i am in a tomb
but i hear a voice
calling my name,
dreams i say to myself
as i continue to rot,
but each time i just
lay here the voice
gets louder and more dense,
as the rocks get heavier
symbols start to grow
on the tomb,
-freedom
-sincerety
-life
these symbols kept
making my body feel
alive,
as the symbols spread
to the rocks and the
leaves,
the voice starts to
speak life
as the leaves fall
the rocks depart and
the tomb shatters
my eternal slumber ends.
