The Bird In A Cage Poem by LULU MERO

The Bird In A Cage

A bird we heard
From time to time
Sometimes singing
Other times chirping
It is that bird.....
Maybe this bird....
Where is this bird

It is that bird in a cage
Been locked all his life
Saved water and food
But never got out of this
Out of his bondage
Out of reach
Because it is that bird
The bird in a cage

The bird that can escape
But been locked inside
Inside and open cage
Inside where is light
The light that can't be
Cants be see by others
The light for the cage itself
The light for from bondage
Thus how he got his freedom

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Life transition from New York city to Versoix, Geneva felt like a bird in a cage. There is freedom, but very limited options
The poetess decided to compare such life stage as a bird locked in a card, well the bird is well fed, and can chirp and sing but it is inside the cage.
