The Backlot Poem by Patrick O'Reilly

The Backlot

4a.m. and the town looks like a movie set
I stagger
I tip
I fall in through the cardboard facade of a wild west saloon
And on the other side somebody's making a cheap knock-off of gone with the wind
Only Scarlett has a smoker's hack
And Rhett looks a lot like me
