The Barren African Widow Poem by DOMINIC PREMPEH

The Barren African Widow

The barren African widow
Miserable and isolated

She is left out in the present story
And has no place in history

She mourns alone
And looks up to no one

No kids to bury her when death beckons
No husband to console her in trouble times

She mourns her dead husband
And mourns herself
