The Battle Of Good And Evil Poem by Gerard Woods

The Battle Of Good And Evil

I awoke in a cold,
Cold sweat,
Scared I feared the devil
Was not at rest,
In through my window,
Through my window he crept,
I prayed to my lord
But my lord still slept,
I prayed and I prayed
And tried to awake,
But alas he slept on
while my life was at stake.
With all my thoughts centered
On prayers to the lord,
The lord awoke
And the devil went out
Through the door.
Thank you, thank you my lord
