The ship of life upon time's sea,
Unchartered journey makes;
And friendship makes the sojourn fine,
No matter what the clime.

Friendship adds beauty to our life,
And makes our stay worthwhile;
Our dearest friends make life easy,
And turn the journey safe.

The friendless soul is shipwrecked soon,
And spends a lonely time;
The misery can turn one mad
And lead to suicide.
