The Beauty Of Spring This Year In The Shadow Of Covid-19 Poem by Hebert Logerie

The Beauty Of Spring This Year In The Shadow Of Covid-19

My friends, don't be fooled by the amazing beauty
Of the cool spring this holy season. This year,
Things are weird and outlandish; there is a deadly virus,
The coronavirus that has already killed people in the motels,
In the alleys, in the streets, in the restaurants, in the churches,
In the schools, and at work. We must check the suitcases.
The coronavirus is everywhere; it is as smart as the foxes
Of the woods. We must wash our hands with soap,
In order to kill the germs. We must keep a great distance,
When we talk to friends these days. When we dance,
We must neither touch each other, nor get too close,
For fear of contaminating each other. This is war,
Shall we say? This is World War III. Many are dying,
Because of COVID-19 in the air. We are very afraid.
We don't know what to do; we are imprisoned at home.
We're in quarantine, praying, eating, sleeping and sitting down.
This season is absolutely immaculate, yet we must take a lot
Precautions. We're imagining, thinking, and almost going berserk.
Brothers and sisters, let's not be intimidated by this voracious virus.
We must be resilient in the face of the elusive SARS-CoV-2 around us.
God is omnipresent. With science and faith, we shall win this battle.
We shall destroy the new coronavirus before it crosses the bridge.
