Aunt Laura was growing old
she used a walker so she wouldn't fall
her shoulders were slightly slouched
but she held herself proud and tall
Each day without fail she walked
around the neighborhood another time
staying true to the familiar path
In her mind she was still in her prime
As she passed by... those she knew waved
They admired her strong determination
Subtly she reminded them to stay active…
She appreciated everything in God's creation
On a sunny day that was exceptionally special
she spotted a beetle crossing in front of her
Stopping to observe… she got on all fours
Marveling… with the beetle she conferred
After ten minutes she resumed standing
A fire truck appeared as she continued
It drove up and down the street then stopped
Had she seen a fallen person needing rescue?
Seems that they had received an urgent call
requesting help… she shook her head no...
Later that day it suddenly occurred to her
911 was called as she watched the beetle show
