The Best Thing - Poem by Michael P. McParland

I'm still quite tired my dear
but feel it's time to get up anyway.
I woke up to the very best thing
and do you know what it is sweet one?
It was your picture on my computer screen.
It was you smiling and being happy
which helps me feel good and happy in my heart
as I get up to face this day.
Seeing your picture was the medicine I need,
the only better thing would you being
right here next to me to kiss and hug
saying right to you I love you Kira
you are my sweet Angel and only one.

You are the thing to ever happen to me
and the person in this world you see.
I love you my darling dear
and send sweet kisses to you my only one,
waking up to see your picture was the greatest thing
because seeing my beautiful one
is everything in the world to me.
The only better thing is when I'll
be able to hold you close and feel your skin next to mine.
I love you deeply dear and I always will.

Kira you are the perfect one for me
and I hope you know just how much you mean to me.
As you go about this bright day
feel me there along with you as I hold your hand,
my arms will be around you too as I whisper
in your cute ear I love you my Angel oh so true,
you are dynamite and I can't get enough of you.
You're the best thing in this all too often
sad and bleak dark world,
you give me light and you give me hope.
I want you to be my bride and be together through all time.
Kira you truly are my one and starting
everyday next to you would be the greatest thing.
