If Bible students set aside the world and all it shares,
Reflecting on Christ crucified, God listens to their prayers.
Saint Paul in prison served God still, though chains might undermine,
Saint Paul still sought the Father's will, a miracle or sign.
For there are ancient prophecies that haven't come to pass,
Concerning wars, concerning peace, just like a masterclass.
With revelations to unfold, for Gentiles and for Jews,
If we esteem God's Word like gold, not just for common use.
If we believe in Jesus Christ, our Saviour for all time,
If we believe and get baptised, then that would prove sublime.
Some even tithe a tenth or so, Christ's Kingdom to increase,
And smile that others may yet know God's wonders never cease.
And whether rich or whether poor, faith boldly stirs them on,
To bless them, yes, forever more, on Earth or when they're gone.
The Holy Spirit guides for now within the hearts of men,
The Holy Spirit guides somehow in blessed dreams now and then.
Believers can have visions, too, proclaiming future things,
Yes, there are gifts for me and you to serve the King of Kings.
The world still staggers blindly, friend, but Christians need not stray,
The Bible course helps comprehend that Jesus is The Way!

Here is a new poem by the Poemhunter poet Denis Martindale. This Gospel poem's title is 'The Bible Course! ' as this is what The Bible Society's prison ministry offers Bible students. The poem mentions Saint Paul, who was a prisoner in chains. He was still faithful to God, and for this reason alone, it is no wonder that God used him to bless billions of people through his New Testament Epistles to the Churches.
