The Bicycle Poem by Pierce Leix

The Bicycle

The gravel crackles beneath,
Leaves on the trees blow,
Time in the essence is passing,
Mind in the presence is napping,

My knee scraped and bruised,
Which line to follow I must choose,
Whilst the present feels surreal,
I wait and ride in hopes of heal,

Still, I ride longing for change,
Something that will mask this awful taste
But til' that day I shall never change,
And forever I withstand the drain.
