The Big Sleep Poem by Venkatesh Raghava

The Big Sleep

Roads are flooded with water
And children play with laughter
With no roof over their head
Wake-up politician give them the bed you promised.

People commute in boats
Without bridges to cross the river
They struggle to reach office
Wake-up politician put their life at ease.

Villages don’t have drinking water
Women travel a long distance
To fill their pot with water
Wake-up politician make their load lighter.

Don’t go into big sleep
Only to wake-up after 5 years
Again to make fake promises
Winning the election and going back to sleep.
