The Bird Who Dared To Fly Poem by Vani Agarwal

The Bird Who Dared To Fly

At the crack of dawn, the time of tides,
Amidst the trees, a little bird resides.
Flies with her flock and then back to her nest,
But all of this was never enough, she had a spark of zest.

One day she woke up, she was all alone,
Where was her mother? Where was her clone?

But wait, this wasn't home!

A place filled with darkness, a place with no trees and tide,
A place with no joy, a place, where everything was snide.
Her feet were cold as the winter blossom and eyes worried sick,
She had nothing, all she had, was under her a brick.
She looked up to see that she was in hell,
Hanging above her, was her evil knell,
Resting behind her was an edifice of stone,
But through those horrible things, a ray of light shone.

So she followed the light, like she followed a yellow brick road,
She walked towards the direction only the light showed.
She was so frail, oh so small!
There before her, everything so tall!
In the noise and the rush and the chaos and the madness all around,
There was one thing she recognized, she recognized a sound.

So again she followed her instinct, she followed her sixth sense,
And she this whole new place, through a microscopic lense.
she was no more in hell, she was not in darkness,
She was not amongst the blunt nor amongst the sharpness.
She saw that light, that light that lit her nest,
She saw the tree, the tree where she would rest.
This place was safe, this place was heaven.
Maybe suitable for her, but will she be able to live in that haven?
And SNAP!

Shattered her dreams into pieces, pieces of glass,
Heaven was not real, there wasn't any greener grass.

And she realized.
She cannot experience it all at once,
She realized that this place wasn't hell or hell,

She was in the real world.
And she was trapped, just like the others,
In the world's trap of love, hatred, beauty, reality and fraud.
She was trapped in this world and there was no way out of it.

A gripping narrative involving a small bird, leaving its nest and venturing out to explore this vast expanse. Nicely articulated. Thanks. You have got a vision. All the best. And she realized.... She was in the real world. In the world's trap of love, hatred, beauty, reality and fraud.
