The Black Hole Inside Of Me Poem by Rachel Byrum

The Black Hole Inside Of Me

You left me dying
Withering and wasting away
Do you know that feeling
That leaves you reeling
Reeling in the wake
Of something you think might have been a mistake
The feeling that there's a hole
Ripped inside of you
Leaving a gaping wound
A black hole
It eats at you and grows
But nobody even knows
You keep it hidden under a fake facade
And when they ask you how you are
You just smile and nod
But its too hard
To keep up all the time
It falls now and then
Because i can't defend
Myself all the time
Not physically
And definitely not emotionally
