The Blood Of A Child Poem by Learning to love dispair

The Blood Of A Child

Rating: 3.8

She sits in class
stares ahead
Like broken glass
her eyes are dead.

Teacher walks
suspicious eyes,
she almost sees
past little girl's lies.

Fell down the stairs,
Tripped and not caught,
Jumped off her bike,
still little girl thought.

Daddy hits,
daddy yells,
daddy touches
this daddy's from hell.

Daddy kills,
they get away
mommy and daughter
live one more day.

BLOCKED
BLOCKED
BLOCKED
BLOCKED

Years and years later
It all comes back
A child again
the light turns black

She was so young
she was so new
so tired of being
so black and so blue

She slices her arms
she screams and she fights
but nobody hears
Her cry tonight

Great poem. Awesome sentiments. Skilfully conceived. Rich in imagery. I liked it. A fine 10. Kindly read and rate my poem 'A humble complaint' on page 2.
