The Break-Up Poem by Freesia Whiz

The Break-Up

So we meet, eye to eye, face to face
Confusion sets in to find its place
In my heart that begins to tremble
And thoughts filled my mind;
The peace that I so wanted, I just can’t find.

You said we needed great space
So we had to go our separate ways
You needed to deal with your life, and so am I
That’s why you think it’s best to just say goodbye

Never did I imagine that it could hurt this much
But it’s like I’m holding an invisible clutch
Enveloping my body like a giant haze
I was in darkness, and I’m caught up in this craze

I know that this must be the best thing for us
To let this go, and not be in each other’s arms
For setting me free and just let time pass
To heal a broken soul, a broken heart
All for the love that no longer was
