The Bridge Poem by Alexander Thomas

The Bridge

Rating: 4.0

We die in the blink of an eye,
Cast into ever afters high in the rafters,

Sings sweet like tomorrow,
And hollow like sorrow,
Still love we borrow,
We all look for someone to follow,

I live on the line and take my time,
Is living a crime, let it unwind,
And leave it behind,

I mended my laces to walk another ten paces,
She's charming but wears many faces,
I can't bear the pain, it's all a game,
We'd give it all up for fame,

Sings sweet like tomorrow,
And hollow like sorrow,
Still love we borrow,
We all look for someone to follow,

I live on the line and take my time,
Is living a crime, let it unwind,
And leave it behind,

You are the dancing fire of creation,
The holy mother of moral incarnation,
I am only the monster of your invention,
Cast the rock through convention!
