The Buzz About My Flowers Poem by Matt Mondschein

The Buzz About My Flowers

Among the flowered garden
Remains ever-essence
The sweet smell of persistence
Among them, a bumble-bee
Takes flight
For a brief moment
He owns that patch
A spectrum of light
An American idol
Himself, personified
Wanting, tasting my tanned skin
Like a drip of fresh honey
Not today, I proceed to say
Not today, for today, this gorgeous spring morn'
I sing in tune with you
For you are the buzz
Around this campus
You will be free
Uncrushed
Unteathered
By a man of foolish dreams
