The Caregivers Honor Poem by Prince Laura

The Caregivers Honor

There comes a time
When letting go is critical

When forgiveness
For nothing
For everything
Is the only true peace we'll know

We brush away tears and pain
And the crushing pressure in our head
Take up our duties
And push on

The anger and the hurt of the past
The wrongs we have endured
No longer mean what they should

We embrace
loneliness as a friend
Heartbreak as the ultimate teacher

But for the heartbeat of the innocent
For the love in their eyes
when they meet ours

We breathe one more time
