How Pleasant It Could Be Poem by Ed Homer

How Pleasant It Could Be

Rating: 5.0

The desire to differ
Follows a long and distant road
Where those who change the norm
Will come and go rise and fall

One cannot tell of success
Nor can one tell of the downs
For the world will again change
By the time I write this down

Screams will pierce the silence
In the name of their dreams
Falling silent to the wayside
Depending in what you believe

For I lived in a different time
None of this makes sense to me
I was born a Mechanics son
A trade was all I would need

To say you are wrong in assuming
I would beg to differ my opinions
For you are neither my judge or jury
You have no power over my life

I send my thoughts to the forum
Hoping at least one might hear
I find this might not be so
For the world has turned a deaf ear

Your sanctimonious attitude
Leaves much to be desired
In the events of things forth coming
Where many in the world have become riled

One day we will all be gone..a pity
That no one ever took the moment to see
If we had just respected one another
How much more simple and pleasant life would be
