The Changes Keep On Happening Poem by Francis Duggan

The Changes Keep On Happening

The changes keep on happening in places far away
You will not see many shlauning peat in Gneeves bog today
And with the passing of the years few things do stay the same
All in the cause of progress for want of a better name,
The changes keep on happening as the Seasons come and go
And in the field of technology human achievements grow
But Nature lives forever and her big rivers ever flow
And the more we learn about her the less of her we know we know,
Great changes have been happening since I was a young boy
And I can only recall in memory the things I used to enjoy
The boo of threshing machine in farm yard I will never hear again
And only in my memory such things do now remain
And the changes keep on happening and few things stay the same
All in the cause of progress for want of a better name.
