The Chase Poem by Fritzie Abella

The Chase

Time flies-
I have forgotten.
Chasing after void,
after ghosts,
after lies.

Beauty fades—
I have forgotten.
Chasing after mirrors,
after masks,
after shadows.

Empires perish—
I have forgotten.
Chasing after chests,
after crowns,
after silvers.

I strayed-
Fantasies I chased after.
I sprinted,
I drifted,
I did not heed.

I was lost,
but found.

Never will I get lost again.
