Off The Chain Poem by Fritzie Abella

Off The Chain

Rating: 5.0

The boy is just a boy!
I need not weep and whine.
My waiting days are over.
I couldn't be happier!

He fooled me twice with no remorse
then all my pleas he just ignored.
Do I deserve this selfish beau?
with calm avowal my answer's 'No! '

No more jitters, no more sparks.
Now he's just one among the crowd.
In my past there he belongs
He's not for me. I need not mourn.

Lessons are learned the hardest way.
That some people are not here to stay;
That no pain lasts forever;
Love yourself. Don't be bitter.

Now I am free from pain and worries.
Ready to face all possibilities.
I don't know what possessed me then
I'm just glad I'm off the chain!

Nice work! And enjoy mine: Passing through long green tunnels again and again, She comes back to this blue green bay by a small train To free her pink adventure from his dull grey chain, And have a cup of black coffee in the harbor’s white rain. by Gordon Tseng
