The Chasm Poem by Cole Severns

The Chasm

Rating: 4.5

Rejection.
Burned deep into my insides.
Obscured by a thin veil.
Fleeting hope's eternal torture.

Connection to warmth and safety, unceremoniously severed.
Phoning-in a purpose, an intention.
A free man trapped in a self-made prison.
Haunted by pervasive thoughts.

Loneliness ever present, my loyal companion, my inviting refuge. Discarded without remorse.
Desperate for time to save me.

A free man trapped in a self-made prison. Haunted by pervasive thoughts. Rejection, Loneliness.. we shall not remain in such negative thoughts nor indulge in it. try to get over. life has more promises for us than we think.

A nice, well articulated poem written with insight to capture the essence of the piece and the poet's conviction. My favourite line is HAUNTED BY PERVASIVE THOUGHTS. A lovely poem indeed. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
