The Child Of Boys Poem by Opaniyi Samuel Oluwawumi

The Child Of Boys

Since the time
he was given a knicker,
he's never dreamt of
buying a pair of trousers
RATHER
in a psychological conflict
cooked by THOSE strangers
'n fired by himself he's been,
in between a Parliamentary Procedure.
This Child of a Pair of THREE!

His spectacles are old,
one eye is removed 'n bothers
not to buy another.

'Ember in, Ember out
the celebration of his
FESTIVAL OF FREEDOM
is staged, with bangles of handcuffs;
all 's an ember of his past.

With Leftocractic elements
seating on the ROCK,
where is he heading to?

This 2014, oct. one
has come again.
what has he gained?
his own form of DEVELOPMENT
is a contemporary Idiocies
cooked in many smelling calabas'
in all arena.

Sale of intellects
is always on the roll.
wastage of blood and
offering of carcass to the vultures.
All 's a symbol of his
Theatre of Cruelty
for his people to watch themselves;
painting himself an Orwellian State.

He knows not he needs
a prophylactic device
from breeding his many more shames.
won't anybody keep him abreast?
Oh! When shall he grow
'n cease being
a Child of the Boys?
