Akoko Poem by Opaniyi Samuel Oluwawumi

Akoko

Akoko to n gbegi n’igbo
is creating an impact
A life of no impact
is a life of no value.
A father who eats his
child’s food is a fool.

What shall we call him?
He who eats tomorrow’s
Food - madman!

Akoko tries its best.
Their own is to create
Wahala on us, and for us.

Poor has no say. Olowonmi,
Talika o ku’o l’aye,

An old man that kills wards
hates continuity of life
and valuable –functional existence.

When you kill EDUCATION
you murder future - us
our lives, you count not it.

Akoko to n gbegi n’igbo
build us,
we’re dying-ing
grey hairs cover our young heads
now our struggle continues!
is our song every second.
stop speaking meaning-lost Englishes
Take positively building active actions
be mindful of us, not your Bellies.
You bellyful! You belly laugh, while we heartache.
