The Chimney Pots' Perspective Poem by Sheena Blackhall

The Chimney Pots' Perspective

In a class of their own,
Chimney pots lord it over roofs and cats

In the hierarchy of objects,
They are vastly subservient to clouds
But are superior to gutters and slates

They are the channels of fire and smoke
Through which homes breath

Rooks may perch upon them
For central heating.
