The Climax Poem by Brenda Poole

The Climax

Like the innocence of
A lamb, I likened myself
To him and my meadows
Were apart of me
This was my place and my
Space

Where I chose to place my
Footsteps, declared my
Priviledge to wander
Freedom here was never
negotiated

This was my place of purity
Here my soul was nourished
Excitement and calmness
Shared my flesh and influenced
The earth beneathe me
To give me what I needed

Jubilee was all I became
Deluged with the purr of the wind
And the freeing sway of the grass
Around me, under me, over yonder
This is my meadows, my never
Barren place
Here is where I feast!
