i closed my mouth
for me
not to speak
yes or no
i closed my ears
for me
not to hear
silence or clamor
i closed my eyes
for me
not to see
smiles or tears
i closed my senses
for me
not to decipher
between truth and deception
i closed my heart
for you
not to demise
with your affection
i closed my hands
now
for me
to pray
that these would all pass
and not to remain
even in my shadow
