The Cloud Poem by Nazih Kassis

The Cloud

It started when a cloud
Moved softly with no sound
And no one in the crowd
Knew why I was so proud!

The cloud above me flew
The sky turned black and blue
And sent me down a clue
A dropp like crystal dew!

The dropp upon my face
Was like a holy grace
Across the road my pace
Forgot its time and place!

A dropp shed from my eye
Made me go red and shy
I looked upon the sky
And felt my heart would cry!

My soul said no 'Goodbye! ”
And soared away and high
I sent a painful sigh
Across the blessed sky!

It flew across the air
Without “goodbye” or care!
And sparkling like a flare
To meet you up and there!

It couldn’t hesitate
Or be a second late!
It flew to its soul-mate
It's only life and fate!
