Ann Anna Morning Star
Shining brightly from afar
Softly did she speak and chat
Like the flute or the guitar!

Like a meteor like a gleam
Like a melody in a dream
Like a twittering bird she sang
Sweetly like a flowing stream!

On my side I asked my soul:
How can we so easily fall?
Will she feel the same as me?
Will she hear my voice and call?

Will she feel at ease and fine?
Will her face with happiness shine?
Will she take my words as true?
Will she be a friend of mine?

Will she pass with me this stage?
And accept my race and age?
Will she cross the bridge of time
And fly with me out of her cage?
